Jacqueline de Jong

Painter, sculptor and graphist, Jacqueline de Jong was born in 1939, in Hengelo, Netherlands. She moved to Paris early in the 1960s and studied at Stanley Hayter’s Atelier 17. She also joined the avant-garde movement Situationist International, of which she was finally expelled in 1962. She responded by creating and publishing six issues of The Situationist Times, an experimental journal combining essays and artworks. She now lives in Amsterdam and since 2012 she frequently exhibits her work in the United States. Imaginary Disobedience, Potato Blues and Pommes de Jong are among her latest solo shows displayed in 2017, in The Hague, Paris, London and Los Angeles.
